Copyright and Takedown Policy
Respect for rights
Repository owners and uploaders are responsible for ensuring they have permission to host and share content. Publishing code does not automatically grant an open-source license. Respect applicable software licenses, trademarks, documentation rights and other intellectual property rights.
How to submit a claim
Use the Report Illegal Content form and select intellectual property, or contact Jeffrey Vels. Identify the copyrighted work, the specific ArchForge URL(s) or Git path(s), the claimant's authority, an explanation of why the use is not authorized, reliable contact details and a good-faith declaration that the information is accurate. We may ask for further information, and submitters should avoid disclosing unnecessary personal information.
Review and possible action
The operator will review requests in context, including licensing, exceptions, fair dealing or lawful quotation and counterarguments from the content publisher. Outcomes may include no action, asking for more information, restricting a file or repository, or removing identified content where warranted. Decisions should be recorded and communicated as legally required. There is no automatic deletion or guarantee of a specific outcome.
Responses and objections
If your content has been restricted, use the contact or appeals channel in the Legal Notice to explain your rights, applicable license or other justification. ArchForge will evaluate additional evidence under applicable law. A legal claim made knowingly in bad faith may have consequences. External Git clones and third-party forks cannot necessarily be recalled.
Trademark and privacy concerns
Trademark complaints and complaints about personal information may have distinct legal requirements. Use the appropriate reason in the reporting form; copyright notices should not substitute for data-subject-rights requests.
Changes and version history
This policy applies from its stated effective date once published. Material changes are dated and versioned. Earlier versions remain available to administrators for audit, and any notice or renewed agreement required by applicable law is handled separately. Questions and legally valid notices may be sent using the contact details in the Legal Notice.
